HCA Training 2021​

California Caregiver Training Academy is extending their services to Sonoma County and will be based in Santa Rosa.  We are planning on offering our HCA Training to all Caregivers who work independently as well as those who work for Home Care Agencies since this is a mandated training in the State of California.  

Get your training done and completed to stay in compliant with the law.

HCA Training Certification

We are planning on offering this Training to all our fellow Fijian Caregivers in Sonoma County.  This is a combination of the Basic Training and the Annual Renewal.   The State requires 5 Hours for the Basic Training with the following topics:

  1. Two hours of Orientation Training regarding his/her role as a caregiver and the applicable terms of employment. 
  2. Three hours of Safety Training including basic precautions, emergency procedures, and infection control.

Annual Training topics are as follows:

A. Client's Rights and Safety

B. How to provide for and respond to client's daily living needs.

C. How to report, prevent, and detect abuse and neglect

D. How to assist a client with personal hygiene and other home care services.

E. If transportation services are provided, how to safely transport a client.


Our Trainer's Bio

Our Santa Rosa Caregiver Educator/Trainer is Mr. Nikola Talemo and better known as Nick.  He had two decades of working as a Teacher, School Counselor and Coach.  

A former High School Teacher  and attended the University of South Pacific in Fiji  before emigrating to the US and further completed his Post Grad education @  University of San Francisco in Education & Administration.  

With fifteen years providing direct care on clients with different service needs from the very least to the higher level of care needed, he has done them all.  He is very well experienced in providing elderly care services and highly recommended without reservations.

With his teaching background, public relations experience, and a public speaker, as well as first hand experience working as a Caregiver, he is ready to continue what he loves the most is educating and building up confidence in caregivers to know the importance of a formal training versus just experience. 

Nick's expertise in teaching and training will  be a great asset to anyone that hires him to be their Educator and Trainer.   


FIJI PRIME IN-HOME CARE is an affiliate and in partners with California Caregiver Training Academy for the education and training of their caregivers.   The State mandated Training for all Home Care Aides.

 Conducted on July 10, 2021 on the HCA Basic and Annual Training.

Second picture: The Owner of Fiji Primer In-Home Care standing in the middle with everyone smiling after completing the training.  Staying in compliance with the regulated and mandated training for all caregivers in the State of California.   While many Home Care Agencies chose online training to meet this requirements for their caregivers, there are still some who chose a live discussion with  interaction and consider it the best way to learn. 


August 03, 2021- HCA Basic & Annual Training.  A Caregiver with experience alone is not enough.  Caregiving plus a formal training makes anyone more knowledgeable, skilled, and a professional caregiver.  

Second Caregiver Training for Fiji Prime In-Home Care Agency in Sonoma County.

HCA Training held at the Metro Church located at 400 American Way, Windsor, CA-

Nick conducted training at his Church on August 21, 2021.   Everyone caring for seniors need to complete the HCA Training required by the State of California.  Whether you work independently or for an Agency, this training is for you.
